Washington D.C. – The Public Leadership Education Network (PLEN) was recently awarded a $200,000 donation from the B.A. Women’s Alliance which will help sustain and grow our organization. PLEN helps develop a pipeline of college women and marginalized gender groups in public policy leadership through our series of educational seminars. These seminars bring together college women and marginalized gender groups from around the country to Washington, DC for three or five-day seminars, with a hands-on program to discuss current issues in the field, build professional skills, and hear from leaders on the front lines of policymaking.
“PLEN is incredibly pleased and grateful to receive this donation. This donation will allow PLEN to continue to educate, engage, and empower young women and marginalized gender groups who are interested in public policy. With this donation, we will continue B.A. Rudolph’s legacy of supporting women and other underrepresented groups in the public service sector,” said Nancy Stalowski, Executive Director, PLEN.
Some of the funds will be used to create The B.A. Women’s Alliance Internship Fund at PLEN in order to continue the mission and values of the B.A. Women’s Alliance. This internship fund will ensure that all of PLEN’s internships are paid, thereby providing an equitable opportunity for students to develop the professional connections and skills needed for their career.
