Executive Director Announcement

We are pleased to announce Dr. Nancy Stalowski as PLEN’s new Executive Director. She is taking the helm at an opportune time, as we emerge from the pandemic and look to the future.

Nancy brings more than a decade of experience working in higher education and leadership development. For most of her career, she has worked with underrepresented students including women, first-generation, minority, and DACA students.

“What drew me to PLEN was its mission and how closely it aligned with my goals in higher education. Preparing college women to be in top leadership positions in public policy fits perfectly with my focus on helping students who face additional barriers to success,” said Nancy.

Prior to accepting this position, Nancy managed the Southern Management Leadership Program at the University of Maryland for almost seven years. While there, she coordinated all major events for the program, managed a budget of over $1,000,000 and helped steward the program with their donors.

Nancy received her doctorate degree in Higher Education Administration at The George Washington University. She also received an M.A. in History from the University of Maryland.

We recognize that the world of higher education is changing, and Nancy is the perfect person to take the helm during this time of transition. Her extensive experience working with diverse students and program delivery will ensure that PLEN continues to maintain its programmatic excellence, while building engagement with stakeholders and looking to the future.

In Nancy, we’ve found a passionate, committed and experienced leader.

Nancy will start at PLEN officially on June 14, and you’ll be hearing directly from her in the coming weeks. Nancy Bocskor will continue on as Interim Executive Director until then and will work closely with Nancy Stalowski in the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.

Thank you for your continued support of PLEN and our mission. We are grateful to have all of you by our side as we begin this next chapter.

Sincerely,

Caitlin Donahue and Vanessa Kermick
Co-Chairs, PLEN Board of Directors
