Caitlin Donahue, Board Chair

Founder, Seven Star Strategies

Caitlin Donahue is a communications and public affairs strategist. In her role at Seven Star Strategies, she consults companies, trade associations, non-profits and executives on communication best practices and innovative, digital tactics. Prior to founding Seven Star, Caitlin was the Senior Vice President and Director of Digital at Curley Company, a boutique public affairs agency in Washington, D.C. Before joining Curley, Caitlin served as the Vice President of Public Affairs at CRAFT Media/Digital where she led the development of the advocacy and PAC practices, consulting dozens of Fortune 100 companies, associations and advocacy coalitions on communications and digital strategy.

A veteran of the PAC and public affairs community, Caitlin spent six years at the National Restaurant Association where she led the Association’s political advocacy programs. She began her career in advocacy and PAC fundraising working for both Procter & Gamble and Liberty Mutual in their government affairs offices.  

Known as a constructive change agent and intuitive leader, Caitlin stays close to evolving communication practices, trends and tactics. She is passionate about leading and motivating teams and perpetual advocate of professional development. She is a frequent guest speaker on topics such as digital media and women’s leadership.

She serves as co-chair of the PLEN Board and sits on the Board of the Public Affairs Council. She holds an M.B.A. from Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and a bachelor’s degree from the College of the Holy Cross in German and History.
