Women & Public Policy Internship Fees

To apply:

Mail the following items to the PLEN office indicated on the application.

  • PLEN 2012 Summer Intern Application
  • Cover Letter
  • One-page Resume
  • Writing Sample (1-2 pages)
  • At least one letter of recommendation from a supervisor or faculty member
  • $100 Non-refundable Application fee

Email electronic copies of your resume, cover letter and writing sample to khamilton@plen.org.

The cover letter should be addressed to PLEN’s Deputy Director, Kristina Hamilton, and  should describe your qualifications as well as the policy area and type of organization in which you would like to intern.

The writing sample should be a complete piece (or an excerpt that stands on its own) that demonstrates your writing ability and knowledge of a relevant subject area.

Please note that for some internship placements, students may be asked  to conduct an in-person or phone interview in order to secure placement at the internship site.  Certain government agencies may require students to obtain a security clearance prior to placement.  The PLEN staff will be available to assist with additional requirements of the internship site.

Registration Fee

There is a non-refundable registration fee of $100.

Internship Fee

$900 for Students from PLEN Member Institutions
$1200 for Students from PLEN Associate Member Institutions
$1900 for Students from Non-PLEN Schools

These fees do not cover expenses for transportation and most meals.  Seminar housing is available for an additional cost.
