MyraHyder

Name: Myra Hyder

PLEN Program: Science and Health Policy 2014

Major: Classics/Philosophy; Minor: Science & Public Policy

My Favorite PLEN Moment: My favorite PLEN moment was hearing from Congresswoman Donna Edwards of District 4 of Maryland. I’m from Maryland, and hearing from one of our Congresswomen in person was such a great and unique experience. It was even better to know that she and I had similar interests in terms of women’s health and economic policy!

Why I’m a PLEN Ambassador: I am a PLEN ambassador because the PLEN seminar I attended was so eye-opening and inspiring for me. I was very confused about my career trajectory prior to PLEN, but the seminar not only taught me this was ok, but also opened my eyes to a number of unique and meaningful careers related to science and policy.
